POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Expeditor is responsible for: receiving, picking, issuing, returning to stock, and other activities related to aircraft parts during the aircraft assembly process.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Receive pre-draw pick lists from Production Planner.
  • Coordinate critical materials (unscheduled, non-routine, and unplanned) with Lead Technician, Production Controller and the Planning Supervisor.
  • Perform the picking process, which includes pulling and distributing parts according to the production planning and unscheduled production needs.
  • Coordinate with internal areas for disposition of part, i.e. repair, return, or dispose of.
  • Daily reconciliation of parts returned to stock and aircraft part shortage list.
  • Ensure material transactions (logistics to aircraft and/or aircraft to aircraft) are complete in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Lead Technician, Production Controller and Planning Supervisor on cancelled orders and unused parts.
  • Communicates and follows up with co-workers and the Planning Supervisor to resolve issues concerning parts.
  • Track part repairs to and from quarantine.
  • Reconcile all discrepancies before aircraft has departed the facility.
  • Contact other team members and the Planning Supervisor in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve dismissed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Reconcile parts to close work orders (for example, support pending work orders / maintenance orders in the No Go list).
  • Reports damaged parts/materials, as well as missing parts, and over and under distribution of parts, and processes according to Supervisor's or Lead's directions.
  • Provides feedback to the Planning Supervisor on any internal customer concerns not able to be addressed.
  • Suggests improvements in process and procedures.
  • Performs other duties related to Planning & Logistics as assigned by the Planning Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • IT Tools: e.g.: MS Office, Internet, SAP.

Experience:

  • Entry Level Service, Production or Support Worker role requiring basic skills to perform basic tasks within the function.
  • Generally, 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  • FAA repair station experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Assignments require minimal knowledge beyond the assigned work.
  • Demonstrates correct understanding of routine aspects of work.
  • Ability to adapt daily work routine according to the planning and production schedule.

Working Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs.
